With the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), the season not only brings back one of the world’s leading symphonic ensembles to Abu Dhabi, but also an orchestra that now has a privileged link with the emirate. Following its educational perspective, the programme has designed, together with the British Orchestra, a range of educational activities, which will allow the young generations of the emirate to immerse themselves in music and learn more about this wide and fascinating universe.
As part of this policy, film music plays an essential role in building bridges between the popular movie culture and the high art of classical music. Thus, after a spectacular film music programme in 2014, built around the music of blockbusters such as Star Wars, Superman and Harry Potter, CBSO is returning to Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain with an all-new film music programme, this time focussing on the music of the most popular series in film history: the James Bond movies.
Get mesmerised by the combination of the thrilling music of 007 and the enchanting setting of Al Jahili Fort. With the latest James Bond movie being released in November 2015, what better way to let your imagination travel, then by embarking on a musical journey through half a century of his greatest adventures? Open to new audiences, the concert will show again the modernity of classical music and its capacity to capture every listener, regardless of background and age.
