Abu Dhabi's first butterfly garden will be home to over 10,000 butterflies in tropical landscapes enclosed within climate-controlled bio-domes that replicate diverse ecosystems in Asia and the Americas. Both zones will highlight their native species.

Within the Americas zone, you'll also find two-toed sloths, caiman crocodiles, and American insects. Within the Asian dome, you'll see bearcats, koi carp, and a range of Asian insects.

The Butterfly Gardens is located adjacent to The National Aquarium at Al Qana. It's set to offer a fully immersive, nature-driven experience for visitors. This nature reserve was designed to promote an understanding of our interconnected ecosystems and the vital role these insects play in them, while promoting the urgent need to preserve biodiversity.

The Butterfly Gardens is set to open in September 2025.
