Abu Dhabi’s stunning and sometimes otherworldly landscapes inspire some of the most creative people in the world, with the emirate’s incredible locations and cityscapes playing starring roles in blockbuster movies and TV shows. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Furious 7, 6 Underground, The Bold and the Beautiful (which filmed nine glamorous episodes in the capital), and Top Gear have all filmed in Abu Dhabi.

The eerie but beautiful Al Wathba Fossil Dunes; gleaming glass-clad sentinels of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers; majestic dunes of the Empty Quarter (Rub’ al Khali); expansive Abu Dhabi Corniche; iconic Emirates Palace; quirky Emirates National Auto Museum car collection, including the esteemed personal car collection of HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan; architecturally stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque; meandering rubber-ring filled river at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, as well as other attractions, have played lead roles in these, and other, productions. The good news? Every one of these incredible set locations is accessible, so you can explore them in real life.

“@1.5x“It’s a bit different to what the Fast & Furious franchise has seen in the past.”

- James Wan,
