A great place for residents and visiting travellers to explore a truly eco-friendly city while getting some exercise, cyclists and joggers working out here can take in sustainability landmarks such as the Eco-Villa, a 405-square-metre pilot project that sees a residential villa incorporating water and energy-saving technologies, using around 72 per cent less energy and 35 per cent less water than a typical comparably sized villa in Abu Dhabi, and displacing an estimated 63 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
This running and cycling track is extremely well kept, making it perfect for families. If you don’t own your own bike, don’t worry. Masdar City has three Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) bike-share stations, operated by Cyacle. You’ll find them next to the Siemens building, IRENA Headquarters and Masdar Park.
