Due to a temporary regional airspace restriction, some flights to and from Zayed International Airport and the rest of the UAE are currently affected. The wellbeing of every citizen, resident and visitor in Abu Dhabi remains the absolute priority of the emirate's authorities.
Abu Dhabi continues to operate with confidence and calm, with essential services functioning as normal.
My flight has been cancelled. What do I do first?
Go directly to your airline's app or website — do not call if you can help it, as wait times are very long. Most airlines are offering free rebooking and full refunds for all affected dates. Etihad passengers with tickets issued on or before 28 February can rebook onto flights up to 18 March at no extra cost.
Which airlines have suspended flights to Abu Dhabi?
As of 3 March, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Air France, and KLM have temporarily paused UAE services. British Airways has adjusted a number of Middle East routes. Etihad is operating select services. Check your airline's website directly for the latest on your route.
I have a future booking — should I cancel?
If your trip is more than two weeks away, we recommend monitoring the situation before making any decisions. For travel in the next 7–14 days, speak to your airline and hotel about flexible change options.
When will normal flights resume?
Flights have partially resumed, however, it’s recommended to stay up to date with Zayed National Airport or Etihad for statues on flight resumption.
My visa is about to expire — what should I do?
Do not worry. The UAE is automatically extending visas for visitors affected by the disruption. Contact the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security via ica.gov.ae.
Are Abu Dhabi's attractions and hotels open?
Hotels are fully open and looking after guests. Some public attractions and events have temporarily paused in line with official guidance. Check individual venues directly for their current status. We look forward to welcoming you fully when you are able to visit.
