Al Ayyala is one of the UAE’s most iconic traditional dances, symbolising pride, courage, and unity. Performed by men and boys at weddings, festivals, and national celebrations, it brings Emirati heritage to life through rhythm and movement.

Two rows of performers face each other, holding thin bamboo canes and moving in sync to the beat of drums. Their chants, often inspired by ancient Nabati poetry, celebrate bravery and honour.

Recognised by UNESCO in 2014 as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Al Ayyala remains a proud expression of Emirati identity.
