Your guide to Abu Dhabi’s book fairs

Abu Dhabi continues to champion the power of storytelling and the written word with a line-up of literary events that span the capital and beyond. At the heart of it all was the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF)—a global meeting point for readers, authors, publishers and creatives. The book fair ran this spring under the theme ‘Knowledge Illuminates Our Community’, the fair brought together over 1,400 exhibitors and 2,000+ events.

Whether you’re here for a weekend or planning your cultural calendar ahead, here’s everything to know about Abu Dhabi’s book fairs —and why it’s worth marking in yours.

Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

The 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair was held from April 26 to May 5 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. The fair catered to all audiences—families, students, industry professionals, and casual browsers alike. The venue is around 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and is easily accessible by taxi or public bus. If you’re staying nearby, hotels like Andaz Capital Gate, Premier Inn ADNEC, or Centro Capital Centre are within walking distance.

Al Ain Book Fair

While the book fair Abu Dhabi hosts is the literary centrepiece of the capital, it's far from the only event celebrating books and storytelling across the emirate. The Al Ain Book Fair generally runs in September 2025 and will be held at Zayed Central Library, spotlighting Emirati authors, Arabic literature, and family reading initiatives. With a strong educational focus, it’s popular with school groups and ideal for readers looking to connect with the UAE’s literary roots.

Al Dhafra Book Fair

Since its inception in 2018, the Al Dhafra Book Festival has strived to ignite a passion for reading across all generations and enrich the cultural landscape of the Al Dhafra Region. What began as the "Al Dhafra Book Fair" blossomed in 2022 into a dynamic cultural festival. Visitors now experience a celebratory atmosphere alive with cultural, educational, and entertaining experiences, alongside artistic performances deeply inspired by the UAE's authentic cultural heritage.
