One of the more interesting and authentic ways to explore Abu Dhabi is by water taxi. The word "abra" is derived from the Arabic word which means "to cross."  Abras are traditional wooden boats that have been used in the Middle East for centuries. They are a common sight in Dubai where they are used to ferry people across the Dubai Creek. In Abu Dhabi, you’ll find a few abra services to enjoy a day out in the water, especially around Emirates Heritage Village, Eastern Mangroves and Yas Island.

Emirates Heritage Village

Experience Abu Dhabi's stunning Corniche and skyline with a scenic 20-minute abra cruise. Hop on board a traditional wooden boat from Emirates Heritage Village and get ready for breathtaking views of the city's iconic architecture and coastline. A tour guide will share insights into the region's rich maritime heritage as you admire the impressive structures that define Abu Dhabi's skyline.

The standard fare is AED 40 per person, with children under 3 years old riding free. For a more exclusive experience, a VIP package is available for AED 400, accommodating up to 10 guests.
