Do I need a visa?
An Abu Dhabi visit visa is free of charge upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport for citizens from most countries, however, it is advised to check out our visa information page for more detailed information.
What are the covid requirements for entering Abu Dhabi?
As of 26 February 2022, you no longer need a test before you fly to Abu Dhabi if you are fully vaccinated.
If you are not fully vaccinated, you must present a negative PCR test result taken within 48 hours, or a COVID-19 recovery certificate. Your recovery certificate must be dated within 30 days of departure and have a QR code. Children under 12 are exempt.
It is now no longer mandatory to take a PCR test upon arrival in Abu Dhabi International Airport.
However, the testing facility remains at the airport for any visitors that wish to take a PCR test to activate their Green Pass in Al Hosn app and facilitate access to Abu Dhabi's public places and tourist attractions. The cost of this PCR test is AED 40.
There is no need to re-test whilst in Abu Dhabi.
How long does it take to get to and from the airport?
Abu Dhabi International Airport is conveniently located close to some of the city’s most popular attractions.
Yas Island, home to attractions such as Ferrari World, Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World™ is under 10km away and takes around 10 - 15 minutes by car.
The main city is around 32 km away and takes 20 - 30 minutes by car.
Those looking to go further afield to the oasis city of Al Ain should expect a 90 minute journey from the airport.
