Your agent must submit documents at least 7 days before arrival, including registration, insurance, crew list and safety certifications. A six-month Cruising Permit is required for private use, or a one-year Navigation Permit for commercial charters as per the Abu Dhabi Maritime authority’s official Foreign Yacht Clearance Formalities Process.
Can you drink alcohol on a boat in Abu Dhabi?
Yes, alcohol can be consumed on a licensed private boat or charter, as long as the operator has the proper permits and the alcohol is served in accordance with UAE laws. Guests must be of legal drinking age (21+), and it’s important to respect the rules regarding behaviour and safety while onboard. Drinking is not permitted on public or unlicensed vessels.
