Abu Dhabi’s public buses are modern and air-conditioned, with services operating across the city throughout the day and night. Bus travel requires a Hafilat smart card, which must be purchased and topped up in advance, as buses do not accept cash or bank card payments on board.

Day passes and longer-term passes are available for those planning to use the bus regularly. Travel by bus is complimentary for senior citizens aged 60 and above, and for People of Determination.
