Fitness First, the chain of popular UAE gyms, will provide weekly online meditation sessions to keep mind and body strong during the global fight against the coronavirus,  to help reduce stress via Fitness First’s YouTube, Facebook or Instagram pages. 

The meditation classes take from 15 to 30 minutes and are focused on breathing techniques to help keep the mind calm and to encourage positive thoughts. As such classes are combined with exercises, they have a favorable impact both on physical and mental health.

Mindfulness is said to improve the way we control emotions and moderate stress levels. One can practice meditation from anywhere but it’s always good to find a quiet little spot to do it in, so as to avoid any surrounding distractions. It is preferable if you place a cushion somewhere and turning a lamp nearby to invoke a sense of calm. It is said that the practice “enhances thought processes which can help boost moods and support wellbeing”.
