Yasalam 2012 - the highly anticipated entertainment festival surrounding the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, now in its fourth year - will kick off October 3, with the Yasalam Responsibly campaign in schools and universities, and will end with the final After-Race Concerts at the du Arena on Yas Island, November 4.
Some of the hottest talent around will perform at the free ‘Beats on the Beach’ weekend, on November 1-2:
- CeeLo Green: One half of the Gnarls Barkley duo will brings his soulful hits to Abu Dhabi’s stunning Al Sahil Beach.
- Tamer Hosny: Egypt’s well-loved and highly successful romantic crooner, which saw him nicknamed ‘King of Generation’ by his fans.
- Missy Elliott: The only female rapper to have six platinum albums platinum and the first to come to Abu Dhabi will bring a hip hop flavour to the evening.
- Maya Diab: This Lebanese fashionista will perform her most successful songs and a mix of up-beat Arabic music.
- Melanie C: Better know as Sporty Spice, Melanie C will perform some of her best-loved solo hits.
- Hani El Omary: the popular romantic Arab star will perform hits, including Wahishni Kalamou, and Bfakir Feek.
A host of other performers covering a broad cross-section of musical tastes, supported by popular local bands and DJs, will also perform Live on the Corniche.
With over 30 days of events across multiple locations in the UAE capital, there’s even more free Yasalam fun for everyone, including:
- The world’s only official F1 FanZone™ will host autograph signings, merchandise stands, big races screened live, racing challenges, simulators and a host of other activities over 11 days.
- Daily live performances from the UAE’s best local bands at the F1 FanZone™ stage.
- A full ‘Screen by the Sea’ weekend, featuring Tropfest Arabia, Cut&Paste and film and photography workshops.
- The Cut&Paste Abu Dhabi competition invites the UAE’s graphic design talent to face off in a live design battle and show who can design best and fastest.

Yasalam will break even more records this year, as it asks the people of Abu Dhabi to come together to break into the Guinness World Records for sandcastle building! On October 25, join the Yasalam team on Al Sahil Beach Abu Dhabi as we attempt to build 683 perfect sandcastles in less than one hour.
