The Queen Mary 2 – the most expensive ocean liner ever built and the Cunard Line’s luxury flagship - makes her maiden Abu Dhabi call at the Mina Zayed cruise terminal on January 29, with 2,620 passengers on board.
The AED 3.2billion (US$ 880million) cruise liner - built in 2004 to replace the illustrious Queen Elizabeth 2 – will spend the day in Mina Zayed, as part of her as part of her 106-day 2013 World Voyage, before sailing for Cochin in India.
The 345m, 150,000 tonne world’s largest ocean liner boasts 1,310 staterooms and suites – 955 with balconies – and a multitude of luxury touches including a six-storey grand lobby piano atrium, a 1,000+ seat theatre, Canyon Ranch SpaClub, a cinema and auditorium that includes the only planetarium on the sea, and 15 restaurants and bars.
