Gourmet Abu Dhabi to hit high notes with opera dinner

13/01/2014
The UAE capital’s highly-acclaimed annual culinary festival readies to hit a high note on February 8 with a themed Italian Opera Dinner, when the artistry of an international trio (Armenian soprano Christine Belbelian, Germany’s Maria Gluck, and British tenor Bradley Minchin) and international pianist (Ukraine’s Stanislav Fedyuk), comes together with the genius creations of three-Michelin-starred Chef Massimo Bottura.

Held at Emirates Palace’s award-winning Mezzaluna Italian restaurant, the dinner will pay homage to the unforgettable Italian tenor Maestro Luciano Pavarotti.

Chef Bottura will serve up an artistic dinner while the operatic trio will perform arias, duets and harmonic pieces from noted works including Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and La Traviata and Giuseppe Verdi’s La Boheme.  Bradley will also perform solo renditions of some of Italy’s most international acclaimed pieces, including Funicili Funicula, O Sole Mio and Santa Lucia.

Tickets for the S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna Opera Dinner are AED 1,500 (US$ 409) per person and available from www.gourmetabudhabi.ae and restaurants@emiratespalace.ae.
