Abu Dhabi life during Ramadan

  • DataFolder/Images/What_to_do/Shopping/Best_Buys_and_Bargaining/1_best_price_and_bargaining_shopping_in_Abu_Dhabi.jpg

During this month Abu Dhabi takes on a completely different way of life. Daytime is quieter due to the fast and offices often work shorter hours. Shops and markets may open in the morning between 10 am to noon and may close during the afternoon.

During the evening however, the emirate comes to life as people meet to socialise, visit with family and friends and go shopping.  When the fast is broken at sunset the roads will be empty but later the traffic can become heavy and public places will be busy well into the early hours of the morning. Shops are generally open from 8:00pm up until midnight. The main shopping centres and most large stores enter into festival mode and you will find many competitions to win prizes, such as cars.
